From the design standpoint, the implementation of auto-navigation systems is greatly simplified to 1-D in the case of a train. So the train is the starting point for the operation of autonomous vehicle navigation. There are already examples in Europe of similar systems in either light trains or in subways.
This system should allow not only the regular navigation (identification of barriers on the road, passing of vehicles, interaction with the railway control, validation of operation, etc.) but also ensure the security of persons and equipment.
