The Helianto team is a group of undergraduate and graduate students at IST who are dedicated to the research, design, and operation of technologies for fully solar electric vehicles.

Name: Horácio João Matos Fernandes
Professor and vice chairman of the physics department of IST , researcher at the Institute of Plasma and Fusion (www.ipfn.ist.utl.pt) with research interests in electronic instrumentation and nuclear fusion. He was a member of the Technical Advisor Panel of Fusion for Energy, the European agency for ITER (www.iter.org) and treasurer of the Portuguese Physics Society.
